Site Reliability Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join the Equity Trading Platform Engineering team, supporting mission-critical Equity Trading applications and Fidessa OMS/EMS workflows used by internal business users and external clients.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in production support, FIX Protocol, Linux/Unix, monitoring, automation, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and Capital Markets, with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and improve platform reliability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Support

• Provide production support for Equity Trading platforms and Fidessa OMS/EMS.
• Support day-to-day trading activities, including:
  • Order Routing
  • FIX Connectivity
  • Client Onboarding
  • DMA
  • Algorithmic Trading
  • Drop-Copy Flows
  • High-Touch & Low-Touch Trading
• Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and trading workflow issues.

2. Trading Platform Support

• Support:
  • Intraday Trading
  • Batch Processing
  • Post-Trade Workflows
  • Production Checkouts
  • Production Validations
• Ensure platform stability, performance, and availability.

3. Monitoring & Reliability

• Build and maintain monitoring solutions across:
  • Applications
  • Infrastructure
  • Databases
  • Messaging Platforms
  • Trading Systems
• Analyze system metrics for:
  • Performance Tuning
  • Capacity Planning
  • Fault Isolation

4. Incident Management

• Participate in:
  • Incident Response
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Post-Mortem Reviews
  • Permanent Remediation
• Improve production stability through operational excellence.

5. Automation & DevOps

• Develop automation scripts using:
  • Python
  • Bash
  • PowerShell
  • SQL
  • Perl
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Improve operational efficiency by reducing manual tasks.

6. Documentation

• Create and maintain:
  • Runbooks
  • Troubleshooting Guides
  • FAQs
  • Production Checkout Procedures
  • Support Documentation

7. Collaboration

• Work closely with:
  • Traders
  • Business Users
  • Development Teams
  • QA
  • Infrastructure
  • Middle Office
  • Global Support Teams
• Support production releases and global on-call rotations.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 5+ years of Site Reliability Engineering or Production Support experience.
• Experience supporting Front Office Trading platforms.
• Strong Capital Markets domain knowledge.
