Application Support Engineer

Overview

Associate is expected to provide L2 support for critical investment banking applications, ensuring system availability, performance, and adherence to standard service management processes.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

Database: Oracle (PL-SQL querying and database operations).

Operating Systems: Hands-on experience with UNIX or Linux.

Cloud Platform: Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).

Enterprise & Monitoring Tools: Grafana, Splunk, Geneos, Control-M.

Automation & DevOps: Ansible, Terraform, GitHub, GitHub Actions.

Methodologies: Solid understanding of ITIL processes (Incident Management, Service Request fulfillment, Problem Management, Change Management, Continual Service Improvement).

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver 24/7 L2 production support for mission-critical investment banking applications.

Perform system, job, and batch monitoring using tools such as Control-M, Geneos, Grafana, and Splunk.

Execute database queries, data fixes, and analysis using Oracle PL-SQL and UNIX shell commands.

Drive end-to-end incident resolution, manage service requests, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for problem management.

Participate in change management activities, release rollouts, and production deployments across Google Cloud Platform and on-prem environments.

Identify operational bottlenecks and drive Continual Service Improvement (CSI) initiatives.

Collaborate with L3 support, infrastructure, development, and engineering teams to escalate and remediate platform defects.

Nice to Have

Prior domain experience supporting Capital Markets or Investment Banking applications.

Practical understanding of DevOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
