Position Summary

We are seeking a Java Backend Developer to join a high-impact team supporting a strategic migration from Python-based services to Java. This role will contribute to enhancing an existing enterprise platform by implementing new capabilities within a mature codebase. The ideal candidate has strong backend development experience, understands microservices architecture, and can quickly learn business workflows while collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and enhance backend services using Java.
Participate in the migration of applications and services from Python to Java.
Design, build, and maintain microservices-based solutions.
Analyze existing code and implement new functionality while maintaining compatibility with current systems.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Work closely with UI teams, DFM teams, and other engineering groups to coordinate implementations.
Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure solution reliability.
Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and solution design sessions.
Required Qualifications

3+ years of software development experience (5-6 years preferred).
Strong hands-on experience with Java development.
Experience writing complex SQL queries and working with relational databases.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
Ability to quickly understand existing applications and business logic.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience working in Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Databricks.
Exposure to GraphQL APIs.
Experience with FastAPI.
Experience supporting modernization or migration initiatives.
Familiarity with both Java and Python environments
