Role: Senior Core Java Backend Engineer

Work Location: Menlo Park, CA (Onsite/Hybrid, 3 days from office)

Interviews Mode: 1 virtual technical interview and 1 Final client In-person interview

Role Summary

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17, Collections, Multithreading, Concurrency, and JVM tuning.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Microservices architecture.
• Strong experience in SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
• Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and indexing strategies.
• Experience analyzing execution plans and resolving database performance bottlenecks.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL databases.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Hands-on experience with Hibernate/JPA.
• Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or JMS.
• Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based enterprise applications.
• Build and enhance microservices using Spring Boot.
• Optimize application and database performance through effective SQL tuning techniques.
• Identify and resolve slow-running queries, locking issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Perform database indexing, partitioning, and execution plan analysis.
• Develop and consume REST APIs and integrate with downstream systems.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and production support activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application performance issues in production environments.
• Follow best practices for software development, security, and DevOps processes.
