Maintenance Engineer Downpatrick, Co. Down £40,000 £44,500 + 11% Shift Bonus + Excellent Benefits Continental Shifts 6am6pm / 6pm6am Bela Recruitment is currently hiring a Maintenance Engineer to work in a modern, highly automated manufacturing facility in Downpatrick, Co. Down. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Shift Engineer who enjoys hands-on fault finding, problem solving and keeping production machinery running at its best. You'll join an established engineering team, maintaining a wide range of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and PLC- controlled production equipment. The Job Working as part of the shift engineering team, you will: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and processing machinery. Respond quickly to breakdowns, carrying out electrical and mechanical fault finding, diagnostics and repairs. Maintain and repair electromechanical, pneumatic and PLC-controlled equipment. Use the site's CMMS to record maintenance and engineering activity. Support production teams to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime. Identify recurring faults and opportunities to improve equipment reliability. Assist with new equipment installations, modifications and process improvements. Support continuous improvement using Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys and 5S. Ensure all engineering work meets Health & Safety, food safety and quality standards. What We're Looking For Ideally, you will have: An Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC, OND, HNC or equivalent qualification. Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience. Experience fault finding and repairing production or manufacturing machinery. Experience with **PLCs, pneumatics and electromechanical equipment. Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The company is ideally seeking around 5+ years' relevant maintenance experience. Experience within food manufacturing, food processing or FMCG, would be useful, but isn't essential. Most importantly, you should be a practical engineer who enjoys fault finding, solving problems and working as part of a multi-skilled engineering team.
