Job Description

Job Title: Full Stack Developer

Client: Leading Public Sector Organisation

Location: Remote, no travel required

Rate: £350 per day Inside IR35

Duration: Mid October start through to end of March/April

Clearance: BPSS

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join a large-scale public sector digital transformation programme. Working within an agile delivery team, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing modern web applications across both Front End and Back End services. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of user-focused digital services using a contemporary technology stack, cloud infrastructure and automated testing practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer working across Front End and Back End technologies.
  • Proven expertise with Node.js, Express.js, Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience developing Front End applications using Nunjucks and the GOV.UK Design System.
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB and Scripting technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud and DevOps practices using AWS and Terraform.
  • Experience implementing automated testing and quality assurance using Jest and Gherkin.
  • Ability to obtain or hold BPSS clearance.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience delivering digital services within government or wider public sector organisations.
  • Experience working within agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
  • Familiarity with secure, scalable cloud-native application development.

Key Deliverables

  • Design, develop and maintain Front End and Back End application components.
  • Build and enhance services using Node.js, Express.js, Java and Spring Boot.
  • Develop user-focused interfaces aligned to the GOV.UK Design System.
  • Configure and support AWS infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Create and maintain automated tests using Jest and Gherkin to support quality assurance objectives.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams and stakeholders to ensure successful and timely delivery of programme outcomes.
