Senior Tax Manager, Partner Track CPA Firm

Location: Latham, NY (Capital Region)
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Pay: $115,000 to $165,000 per year
Relocation: Assistance may be considered

Help lead a growing Capital Region office with an established client book, an existing team, and a real path to Principal or Partner.

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Progressive public accounting tax experience
  • Strong tax compliance and planning knowledge for partnerships, S corps, C corps, and individuals
  • Experience serving closely held or owner-operated businesses
  • Staff supervision and coaching experience
  • Strong client relationship skills and executive presence
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines
  • Capital Region residency or genuine willingness to relocate

What You’ll Do

  • Manage relationships with closely held businesses, owners, and high-net-worth individuals
  • Oversee federal and state tax compliance, planning, and advisory engagements
  • Review partnership, S corp, C corp, and individual returns
  • Advise clients on tax planning and broader business matters
  • Manage engagement timelines, budgets, and client expectations
  • Supervise and develop the local team
  • Help transition and strengthen longstanding client relationships
  • Build relationships in the Capital Region business community
  • Shape the office’s long-term growth and strategy

Nice-to-Haves

  • CPA license (strongly preferred)
  • Current or prior Manager or Senior Manager title
  • High-net-worth and family business advisory experience
  • Business development or community networking experience
  • Review, compilation, or bookkeeping exposure
  • An established Capital Region professional network

Compensation and Benefits

  • $115,000 to $165,000 per year (higher for Principal or Partner-level candidates)
  • Potential path to Principal or Partner
  • Relocation assistance may be considered
