  • Providing technical expertise across gear technology, precision machining and grinding

  • Working with design teams to improve component manufacturability and production efficiency

  • Establishing machining routes, tooling requirements and inspection methods

  • Assessing manufacturing risks and developing robust process controls

  • Evaluating supplier capabilities, equipment and manufacturing readiness

  • Supporting supplier selection, technical assessments and manufacturing reviews

  • Reviewing engineering drawings, tolerances, materials and surface finish requirements

  • Improving inspection processes through digital measurement and data analysis

  • Supporting the transition of new designs from development into production

  • Driving improvements in manufacturing quality, consistency and efficiency

What you'll bring:

We're looking for a technically capable engineer with experience in complex manufacturing, ideally within aerospace, defence or another demanding engineering sector.

You'll ideally have:

  • A Degree or Master's in Engineering or a related technical discipline

  • Strong experience in precision machining and rotating components

  • Knowledge of gear manufacturing, gearboxes or power transmission systems

  • An understanding of processes such as turning, milling, boring, grinding and gear cutting

  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Knowledge of manufacturing risk assessment, PFMEA and root cause analysis

  • Familiarity with quality management systems, ideally AS9100 or ISO 9001

  • Experience assessing manufacturing processes, tooling and inspection capability

  • Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills

Experience with digital measurement systems, supplier assessments and manufacturing industrialisation would be beneficial.

Important eligibility requirement: Applicants must be sole UK nationals due to security requirements.
