Datastage Developer - (Local to Michigan)

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Datastage Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data integration solutions using IBM DataStage and related technologies. This role will support enterprise data modernization initiatives, including the migration of IBM DataStage workloads to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D).

This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work two days per week (Monday and Tuesday) from day one. Candidates must currently reside in Michigan.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with IBM DataStage (ETL)
• 1+ year of experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D)
• 5+ years of experience with Unix/Linux
• 3+ years of experience with Master Data Management (MDM)
• Strong SQL development and query optimization skills
• Experience with Python and XML
• Experience working in Agile environments

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and optimize ETL solutions using IBM DataStage.
• Support migration of on-premises DataStage jobs to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D), including code refactoring, testing, validation, and modernization.
• Develop automation using Python and XML for ETL processes and data transformations.
• Work in Unix/Linux environments to create shell scripts, manage files, monitor processes, and troubleshoot issues.
• Apply Master Data Management (MDM) principles to ensure data quality, governance, and consistency.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, DBAs, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.
• Troubleshoot ETL failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement improvements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, deployments, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous government/public sector experience.
