We’re looking for a Midrange AS400 Engineer to:

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade IBM i (AS400) operating systems and related software.
• Monitor and manage system performance, capacity, and availability.
• Perform backups, disaster recovery testing, and system restores.
• Support for incidents and service requests related to AS400 environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain job schedules, printers, subsystems, and user profiles.
• Analyze system logs and performance metrics to proactively identify bottlenecks.
• Fine-tune system resources and recommend hardware or software upgrades.
• Implement and maintain security policies, user access controls, and auditing mechanisms.
• Ensure system compliance with corporate and regulatory standards

Your team

In our agile operating model, crews are aligned to larger products and services fulfilling client needs and encompass multiple autonomous pods. You’ll be working in the Mainframe as a Service team in Hyderabad and you will interact with the Engineering, Application Testing, Operations and Developer teams. The team will ensure a good performance, availability of the systems and support Application releases in the Test Environments (through SDLC Process).

Job Responsiblity

You have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing AS400/iSeries systems.
• Experience with IBM i OS versions, DB2/400, CL programming, and RPG applications is a plus.
• Familiarity with BRMS, Robot, Turnover, or other AS400 tools.
• Proficient in IBM i commands and system utilities.
• Strong understanding of job scheduling, system backups/restores, journaling, and mirroring.
• Knowledge of networking concepts as they relate to IBM i connectivity.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
