Job Description

Overview

Seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to support mission-critical telecommunications and facilities infrastructure across multiple sites in the Kansas City, MO region. You’ll be assigned a primary “home base” location and travel throughout the region as needed. Travel expenses are reimbursed. This is a long-term contract assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize facility infrastructure including generators, HVAC, racks, cabling, and site security to support maximum uptime
  • Install, test, and maintain telecommunications equipment (e.g., switches, routers, fiber-optic cabling)
  • Maintain and troubleshoot DC power systems, rectifiers, and battery backup systems
  • Escort/monitor uncleared visitors and contractors in restricted areas per site security requirements
  • Review technical designs and contractor work for compliance with standards, safety, and critical infrastructure requirements

Required Qualifications

  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • 8+ years in facilities engineering/facilities management
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, power distribution, building infrastructure, cabling standards, regulatory/safety frameworks, and physical security practices
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in government, transportation, telecom, utility, or other critical infrastructure environments
  • PE license or facilities/building management certifications
  • Familiarity with LEED / energy-efficient building practices
  • Project management methodology/tool familiarity
Publishing Pay Range: $49.00 - $53.00 hourly
