Job Description

About the Role

Build and operate the backend systems that let AI agents reliably work with connected tools and customer data. You will own core infrastructure across integrations, execution environments, and persistence, helping make the agent dependable at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Design and operate a tool gateway that exposes connected APIs and MCPs through a composable Python SDK, with routing, authentication, rate limits, and reliability built in.

  • Run persistent, isolated Linux sandboxes for workspaces, making them secure, autoscaling, and cost-efficient.

  • Own a durable, fast multi-tenant data layer designed to handle failures.

  • Find and resolve integration issues, then improve systems to prevent them from recurring.

  • Work directly with company leadership on technical decisions and ship improvements quickly.

  • Talk with users and contribute to production work from your first week.

What We're Looking For

  • At least three years of professional engineering experience building and operating backend systems in production.

  • Strong distributed systems experience, including designing for scale, reliability, and failure.

  • Experience with containers, Linux internals, sandboxing, and safely running untrusted code.

  • Fluency in Python and experience building Python services; familiarity with Modal is valuable.

  • Hands-on experience with OAuth, webhooks, rate limits, and third-party API integrations.

  • Experience designing and building multi-tenant systems, with attention to durability, cost, and failure isolation.

  • Background in infrastructure, platform, developer tools, or code execution systems.
