Cloud Ops Engineer
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Hybrid)
Alternate Location: Dallas, Raleigh, Richmond, Atlanta
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our Azure cloud infrastructure and services. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, scalability, and security of Azure-based applications. The engineer will also be instrumental in migrating and securing new client data across the platform, troubleshooting environments, and staying current with emerging Azure technologies.
Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage cloud resources including virtual machines, storage, databases, recovery vaults, key vaults, and networks using Microsoft Azure.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Assist with migrating client data and workloads securely to Azure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Azure environments, respond to incidents, and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide after-hours support as part of an on-call rotation.
• Enroll VMs and SQL Databases into the backup center and troubleshoot backup situations.
• Manage Azure costs by analyzing usage and implementing cost-saving measures.
• Troubleshoot issues using Windows Server administration and event logs.

Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in Azure administration. Experience should include deployments within the cloud (VMs, storage, databases) and assisting with migrations.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Azure infrastructure, services, and administration. Strong experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code is required. Scripting experience in any language is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL Server IaaS and PaaS, including troubleshooting and setup.
• An Azure Administrator certification is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Azure Site Recovery and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience with cloud migration projects.
• Familiarity with GitHub or Azure DevOps.

Work Environment
This position requires working both independently to drive results and collaboratively as part of a team. The role is part of an on-call rotation shared among team members for incident response.
