Driver Recruiter - Transportation & Logistics

Forward Air is seeking a Driver Recruiter to attract, screen, and onboard professional drivers to support our nationwide expedited LTL and logistics network. In this role, you will source candidates through digital platforms, job boards, referrals, and events; conduct phone screens and interviews; coordinate DOT-compliant background checks; and guide drivers through the hiring and orientation process. You will partner closely with operations and safety teams, track recruiting metrics, and help maintain a high-performance, safety-focused, and customer-oriented driver workforce in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Source and attract qualified company drivers and owner-operators through multiple channels
• Conduct phone screens, interviews, and evaluate candidate fit and qualifications
• Coordinate background checks, MVR reviews, and DOT-compliant pre-employment processes
• Manage driver onboarding, from offer through orientation and first-day readiness
• Partner with operations and safety teams to understand hiring needs and staffing levels
• Maintain accurate candidate data in ATS/HR systems and ensure timely follow-up
• Track and report key recruiting metrics and pipeline activity to leadership
• Promote Forward Air's brand, culture, and safety standards to candidates
• Support continuous improvement of recruiting processes and candidate experience
• Ensure all recruiting activities comply with DOT, FMCSA, and company policies
