Mobile Commercial Maintenance Engineer

Location: Commercial sites across London
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
Position: Full-time, permanent

JBS London Ltd is looking for an experienced, multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join our team, delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across commercial buildings in London.

We welcome applicants with a plumbing, mechanical or electrical background who also have practical experience of wider building maintenance.

The role

• Carry out scheduled PPM, inspections and reactive maintenance across commercial sites.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs within your qualifications and competence.
• Maintain building services, including plumbing, mechanical plant or electrical systems, according to your trade background.
• Undertake general maintenance and identify defects requiring specialist attention.
• Complete accurate job sheets, readings, photographs and service reports.
• Keep site logbooks and maintenance records up to date.
• Communicate professionally with clients, building managers and the JBS office.
• Follow risk assessments, method statements and site safety procedures.

What we're looking for

• At least five years' experience in commercial building maintenance and PPM.
• A recognised plumbing, mechanical or electrical qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent.
• Strong fault-finding skills and a practical approach to solving problems.
• Experience working independently and managing tasks across multiple sites.
• Confidence using mobile job-management systems.
• A full UK driving licence.
• A reliable, professional approach and pride in completing work properly.

Electrical applicants should hold appropriate electrical qualifications and an 18th Edition qualification. Experience with pumps, AHUs, FCUs, water hygiene checks, emergency lighting or BMS controls would be useful, depending on your main trade.
