As an Employee Benefits Consultant, you will help organizations build benefits programs that support their employees while driving growth for the agency. This role combines business development, client relationship management, and employee benefits expertise to deliver meaningful solutions that help employers attract, retain, and support their workforce.
You will work closely with prospects, clients, carriers, and internal account executives to evaluate employee benefits strategies, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver tailored recommendations. With access to a collaborative team and industry-leading resources, you will play a key role in expanding the client base while ensuring clients receive exceptional service and trusted guidance throughout the year.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, referral source development, networking, and industry engagement activities.
  • Create customized employee benefits proposals and presentations that clearly communicate value and help organizations make informed decisions.
  • Review and evaluate clients’ benefits programs to identify opportunities for enhanced coverage, improved employee experience, and cost efficiencies.
  • Partner with account executives to support client onboarding, ensuring a seamless transition and positive client experience from day one.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, referral partners, HR professionals, brokers, and industry associations to drive long-term growth.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory developments, and market changes to provide relevant and strategic guidance to clients.

What You Bring

Day One:

  • 2+ years of experience in a client service, sales, or related position
  • Associate degree in Sales, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Active California Life & Health Insurance License
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and documentation abilities
  • Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends as business needs require
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Valuable Additions:

  • Experience within the employee benefits, insurance, or human resources industry
  • Prior experience developing referral relationships and generating new business opportunities
  • Knowledge of employee benefits plan design, renewal strategy, and client onboarding processes
  • Experience presenting proposals, conducting client reviews, or supporting benefits consulting engagements
  • Established relationships within the California business community or HR network

Pay Range: Posted below*
*Any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with applicable state pay transparency laws, considering relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis. Roles may also be eligible for a supplemental compensation, such as performance-based bonus, commission, or equity. Specific eligibility will be discussed with Talent Acquisition team.
