Job Summary

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer II with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and event-driven microservices to build highly scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate has experience with cloud-ready microservices, production support, and modern AI-assisted development practices.

Note: Candidates must complete a Java coding assessment as part of the interview process.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot
• Experience building Kafka-based event-driven microservices
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and JPA/Hibernate
• Experience designing scalable, high-throughput, low-latency backend systems
• Production support, troubleshooting, and platform optimization experience
• Experience with AI-assisted / Agentic software development
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud-ready applications
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience with CI/CD and Agile Scrum methodologies
• Strong understanding of SOLID design principles and software engineering best practices
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java microservices
• Build event-driven solutions using Kafka
• Develop REST APIs and backend services using Spring Boot
• Participate in architecture, design reviews, and code reviews
• Support production systems and resolve performance issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams
• Research and implement new technologies and best practices
• Contribute to continuous improvement of platform reliability and performance

Preferred Skills

• Experience building AI-powered or agentic workflow applications
• Experience with cloud-native application development
• Financial services or high-volume transaction processing experience
