Job Description
Robert Half is seeking an experienced HR and business operations leader to strengthen and guide the people function for our client's organization in the Philadelphia area. This role will partner closely with leadership to shape workforce strategy, improve employee programs, and ensure HR practices support both compliance and long-term organizational goals. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in recruiting, employee relations, policy administration, and operational coordination within a growing or mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead a structured human resources function that supports managers and employees with clear guidance on workplace policies, employee relations, and best practices.
- Oversee end-to-end hiring activities, from identifying staffing needs and managing candidate selection to helping teams secure top talent efficiently.
- Manage onboarding and orientation for new employees, ensuring a smooth introduction to the organization and completion of required employment records.
- Partner with external providers and consultants to support employee benefit programs, wellness resources, and other people-related services.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on team structure, succession planning, and broader workforce development initiatives.
- Evaluate and enhance HR workflows, systems, and administrative processes to improve effectiveness and align operations with organizational priorities.
Requirements
The ideal Associate Director of HR & Business Operation candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field. SHRM Certification preferred.
Other requirements for the Associate Director of HR & Business Operation position include and are not limited to:
- 6+ years of experience in operations management, human resources, or business administration
- Experience leading full-cycle HR functions
- Nonprofit experience preferred
- Experience with vendor management
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
