The Role

• Interpret engineering drawings, mark off materials, and prepare plate for assembly.
• Assemble ship structures, ensuring accurate fitting, fairing, and tack-welding of components.
• Fabricate various ship items including seats, ladders, flooring, hatches, and equipment supports.
• Form materials using machine tools such as rolling, flanging, guillotines, and saws.
• Precisely tack-weld components to meet safety and quality standards.

What You'll Need

• A Modern Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent Trade Papers (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds) is mandatory.
• Demonstrable up-to-date fabrication knowledge and hands-on experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Proficiency in operating oxy-fuel and/or plasma cutting equipment.
• Strong understanding and application of core manufacturing processes.
• Adherence to SHE principles and risk-assessment requirements in all work.
• Experience working safely in confined spaces or at height, with relevant safety certifications.
