Are you a passionate Head Chef who loves creating great food, leading a team and delivering dishes that keep customers coming back for more? Then it’s time to turn up the heat at The Old Grey Mare, part of our Flaming Grill family!

We’re looking for a motivated and hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen team, bring our menu to life and make every plate count.

Located in Hull, The Old Grey Mare is a welcoming pub and hotel serving up bold flavours, flame-grilled favourites and classic pub food. With live sport, a friendly atmosphere and a great-value menu, there’s always something happening here!

What you'll be doing

As Head Chef, you'll take the lead in the kitchen, bringing passion, organisation and creativity to everything you do.

• Lead from the front: Inspire, motivate and develop your kitchen team, creating a positive environment where everyone can thrive.

• Deliver great food: Serve up delicious, consistent dishes that keep our customers coming back for more.

• Keep standards sizzling: Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

• Own your kitchen: Manage stock, control food costs, minimise waste and make sure the kitchen runs smoothly.

• Make it happen: Keep your team organised and ready to deliver, even during our busiest services.

• Grow your team: Coach and support your chefs, helping them build their skills and confidence.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who brings energy, passion and pride to the kitchen.

• Experience leading a kitchen team in a busy pub, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.

• A genuine passion for food, quality and delivering a great customer experience.

• Strong organisation skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen.

• A good understanding of food safety, stock control and kitchen costs.

• A hands-on leadership style, with the ability to motivate and develop others.

• A positive attitude and the drive to keep improving.

Most importantly, you'll lead by example, enjoy being part of a team and take pride in every dish that leaves your kitchen.
