Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Dudley | £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

Rotating Shifts

  • Monday - Thursday: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00

  • Friday: 06:00-12:15 / 12:15-18:30



We're recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a successful, global steel processing business based in Oldbury, West Bromwich area.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who enjoys fault finding, breakdown response, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment.

The Role
  • Planned and reactive maintenance on rolling mills, presses and associated equipment

  • Mechanical fault finding and repairs

  • Maintenance of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, pumps and conveyors

  • Machinery installation and refurbishment projects

  • Supporting equipment reliability and production efficiency

  • Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime

What We're Looking For
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, ONC, HNC or equivalent)

  • Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing or heavy industry

  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills

  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment

  • Knowledge of rolling mills, presses, steel processing or similar machinery would be advantageous

  • Safety-conscious with a proactive approach to maintenance
