Job Description
Job Title: Sr. Linux Admin Location: Remote Duration: 24 Months with Possible Extension
A highly experienced Kubernetes and Linux Systems Administrator to support and enhance our enterprise Kubernetes and Linux KVM infrastructure. This role focuses on OpenShift Kubernetes and Red Hat Linux. Experience with IBM Linux ONE systems is a strong plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain OpenShift Kubernetes clusters using OCP console, command line, automation, and Advanced Cluster Manager
Administer and maintain Linux systems, primarily Red Hat distributions.
Automate deployments and configurations using Ansible and shell scripting.
Configure and maintain GPFS (IBM Spectrum Scale) for scalable storage.
Implement and manage data protection solutions across Linux environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and infrastructure issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network engineers and developers.
Required Qualification
Minimum 10 years of Linux system administration experience.
Minimum 5 years of Kubernetes cluster administration experience
Expertise in installing Linux OS (especially Red Hat) using automated tools.
Proficiency in shell scripting, Ansible, and at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go).
Strong understanding of SELinux configuration and Linux firewall management.
Experience with software package management and dependency resolution.
Familiarity with open-source software principles and tools.
Networking knowledge including bonding and macvtap.
Proficiency in LVM for storage management and dm-crypt/LUKS2 for disk encryption.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
Red Hat certification or equivalent experience.
Experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes-based platforms
Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as KVM.
Exposure to high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and using automation solutions like Ansible
Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, Golang, Rust, C, Java, etc.
Familiarity with containerization technology such as building docker images
