Power BI Modeler/Report Developer

Location: Torrance, California (On-site)

Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified Power BI Developer for a project engagement. This role supports several business intelligence, analytics, and AI initiatives. We are looking for a resource with a combination of Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Copilot experience who can work with business stakeholders and technical teams to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise-scale reporting and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate should be capable of translating business requirements into scalable data solutions while leveraging modern Microsoft analytics and AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise-scale reporting and analytics solutions.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Leverage modern Microsoft analytics and AI capabilities.
• Utilize Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Copilot for development.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
• Expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Data Modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema), DAX development and optimization, Power Query (M Language), Report and Dashboard design, Row-Level Security (RLS), performance tuning, and Deployment Pipelines.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise BI environments.
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, including understanding capacity management concepts.
• Experience using Microsoft Copilot within Power BI and Fabric.
• Ability to leverage AI-assisted development capabilities to accelerate report creation, DAX generation, and data exploration.
• Understanding of responsible AI governance and security considerations.
• Strong SQL development skills.
• Familiarity with cloud architecture and data integration patterns.
• Experience connecting Power BI/Fabric to operational and cloud-based data sources.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Self-driven and capable of working independently within a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working in large enterprise organizations.
