Job Description

About the company
Kodex revolutionizes how organizations handle sensitive subpoenas and data requests from law enforcement and government agencies. Founded by a former FBI agent and backed by leading investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, Peak XV and Thiel Capital, Kodex has become the industry standard for secure data exchange. Our platform supports over 15,000 government agencies in 190 countries and is trusted by industry leaders like Coinbase, Stripe, and AT&T.
By transforming a traditionally complex and manual process into a streamlined digital workflow, Kodex helps organizations strengthen compliance, enhance security, and reduce operational costs by millions each year. We bridge the gap between companies and authorized requestors, ensuring that sensitive data is handled with uncompromising security, transparency, and efficiency.

The Role

Kodex is launching its formal Business Development Representative program. We're hiring our first cohort of two BDRs β€” the team that will define what outbound looks like at Kodex.

You'll spend your days on the phone and in the inbox, building pipeline for our Account Executives, learning enterprise sales, and setting yourself up for your own move into an AE seat. This is a career-track role with structured coaching, a real playbook, and a clear promotion path.

This is an in-office role in Boston. If you're a recent grad or early-career pivot who wants to learn sales the right way at a company that's actually scaling, this is that role.

Responsibilities

  • Outbound prospecting β€” build pipeline through phone, email, LinkedIn, event, and signals-based outreach against target account lists.

  • Inbound follow-up β€” qualify and route demo requests, marketing-qualified leads, and event follow-through.

  • Target account development β€” research and strategic outreach on assigned accounts in partnership with AEs.

  • Discovery calls β€” qualify prospects and set meetings that AEs can close.

  • CRM discipline β€” HubSpot hygiene, activity tracking, pipeline reporting.

  • Coachability β€” daily and weekly cadences with your manager, ongoing skill-building, call reviews.

  • Team collaboration

  • Event staffing - (Available to travel ~10% of the time)

What You Bring

  • Recent college graduate (2024–2026) OR Making a career change

  • Boston metro location β€” you're comfortable working in-office 3+ days per week.

  • Phone composure β€” you can hold an executive-level conversation by phone without the video crutch.

  • Coachability β€” open to real-time feedback, iteration, and getting better fast.

  • Money motivation β€” you understand the sales career math and are hungry.

  • Polish and charisma β€” you can hold a room, read a stakeholder, and adjust.

Big Pluses

  • Academic sales coursework

  • College athletics β€” team sports especially.

  • Meaningful extracurricular leadership β€” student government, club president, competitive teams, entrepreneurship.

  • Worked during college β€” part-time job, internship, or side hustle.

  • Interest in sensitive-data domains (fintech, security, compliance, trust & safety).

Benefits

  • In-office culture in Boston for this role (Kodex is remote-first across the rest of the org).

  • Offsites in exciting locations. Past trips include Seattle, Miami, Nashville, and San Francisco.

  • Competitive salary + variable and meaningful equity.

  • Unlimited Vacation plus 14 company holidays.

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.

  • 401(k) retirement plan.

  • 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, with a flexible return-to-work policy
