Hrishi Digital Solutions is sourcing a UX Business Analyst for a 12-month contract engagement with the Northern Territory Government, supporting digital projects delivered by DPS within the Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD).
The UX Business Analyst applies a human centred lens across a full range of business analysis tasks, covering requirements planning and management, elicitation, analysis and documentation. The role supports the Program Manager and BA Lead with execution of the Program, drawing on human centred design skills including user research, information, interaction and interface design, usability reviews and testing, alongside project and time management and technical writing.
Day to day you will facilitate stakeholder workshops, engage and collaborate with project team members (especially technical, change and testing roles), and document business requirements in a human centred way so they are relevant to both business system owners and front-end system users. That includes personas, user flows, user journeys and persona user stories. You will also support translation of business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications, and contribute to gap analysis between current-state and future-state HR processes.
The position is based in Darwin. Candidates currently located interstate must be willing to relocate to Darwin for the duration of the contract. A National Police Clearance is mandatory and must be supplied with your application, and a PF166 is also required.
Key duties and responsibilities- Initiate and lead user centred business analysis, documentation and design activities to deliver intuitive, efficient and accessible digital solutions
- Collaboratively facilitate user requirements definition through workshops, interviews and focus groups with vendors, project team members and stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document business and functional requirements, and manage requirements traceability
- Conduct user research to understand user contexts (business and public users as needed), operational needs, matters of concern, and requirements
- Document user research findings using personas, user journeys, wireframes and prototypes to support future-state design, ensuring alignment with functional business requirements
- Support the implementation or enhancement of HR systems through collaboration and engagement with solution architects, subject matter experts, stakeholders and vendors to ensure requirements are incorporated into system design
- Support configuration reviews and solution validation, and contribute to change impact assessments
- Work closely with the organisational change management (OCM) team to support training material development and end-user readiness activities
- Work closely with the Program team to monitor project scope and deliverables
- Undertake and support testing activities including preparing and executing test plans and test cases, conducting a range of usability tests and reviews that are fit for purpose, and undertaking accessibility tests and reviews to validate and refine solutions, including user acceptance testing
- Ensure compliance with government accessibility, privacy and security standards, and other complex legislative or regulatory requirements relevant to specific projects or work environments
- Deliver project documentation in alignment with DPS project management frameworks, on time and to expected quality standards as per scope and as agreed with the Project Manager
- Manage sensitive information and maintain records in line with information management policies
- Demonstrated experience providing a holistic, human centred approach to the design of digital products, defining their form, behaviour and content, drawing on user research, interface, interaction and information design, project and time management, technical writing and usability testing
- Highly skilled in user research, design thinking, reporting and usability testing
- Experience and skills in designing experiences across a range of digital products
- Experience working closely with Business and Change Analysts and Developers to confirm the user centred approach is embedded in digital projects, with strengths in analysis, problem solving, planning, communication and coordination
- Skilled in the use of Jira, Confluence and SharePoint, and other design and office tools including the Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Visio, and Figma or other prototyping tools
- High level analytical and organisational skills with good attention to detail and the ability to think laterally and conceptually
- Ability to work both within a multi-disciplinary team and independently, with demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and data privacy
- High level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, including the ability to complete tasks within deadlines
- The ability to identify and resolve problems using lateral thinking and persistence to meet critical deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and integrity
- Proven stakeholder engagement, customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures
- Based in Darwin or willing to relocate to Darwin for the duration of the contract
- Australian residency with valid work rights, a current National Police Clearance, and the ability to obtain a PF166
- Experience supporting HR system implementations or enhancements
- Experience working in a government environment, including gap analysis between current-state and future-state processes
- Experience applying government accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 AA to digital products
- Experience working alongside organisational change management teams on training and end-user readiness
- High level social and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders, including the ability to translate complex analytical and technical information into clear and meaningful terms
- Ability to work in a large team environment with members of diverse cultures and backgrounds
