Senior Payload Systems Engineer

Lead payload systems engineering for a next-generation satellite constellation, integrating optical and communications payloads with spacecraft platforms. Work across engineering teams and suppliers on system trades, interfaces, requirements, testing, and mission operations. This hybrid role is based in Westminster, Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical, mechanical, thermal, and data interfaces between imaging payloads and spacecraft buses.
• Lead and participate in system-level design trades, assessing performance, cost, risk, and technology options.
• Coordinate supplier activities, site visits, deliverable reviews, and system design reviews.
• Develop payload concepts of operations and model power, data, and timing interactions across operating modes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, commercial and flyable-off-the-shelf hardware, and new mission concepts for integration feasibility.
• Assess and troubleshoot payload and spacecraft bus designs.
