Cloud Solutions Architect Location:Arlington , VA START YOUR APPLICATION Job Type: Full- Time Workplace Type: Onsite Clearance: Secret with ability to get a DHS Suitability Must be a U.S. Citizen Job Summary Castalia Systems is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services. Castalia is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to support this critical customer mission Roles and Responsibilities A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to: * Design, optimize, and enhance cloud-based architectures to support ESS operational requirements.
* Creating scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that enable rapid deployment and customization of engagement infrastructure across diverse mission scenarios.
* Lead planning and implementation for migration of on-prem capabilities into the AWS cloud
* Customize capabilities to align with engagement scope, technical, and operational parameters
* Develop automation frameworks to streamline provisioning and deployment processes
* Create and maintain infrastructure-as-code templates and documentation
* Ensure architecture supports rapid reconfiguration for dynamic mission needs
* Implement security controls including encryption, namespace obfuscation, and hardened configurations
* Collaborate with DevOps engineers to enhance CI/CD pipelines
* Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to improve operational capabilities
* Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to implementation teams
* Support troubleshooting of complex architectural issues during active operations
Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* 5+ years of experience designing cloud architectures, preferably on AWS
* 8+ years of directly relevant experience
* Strong expertise in AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudFormation
* Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
* Deep understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements
* Proven ability to design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions
* Strong documentation and technical communication skills
* Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Preferred Qualifications * TS/SCI preferred
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
* Experience designing solutions for cybersecurity or incident response operations
* Knowledge of multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures
* Experience with Splunk
* Experience migrating on-prem legacy systems to a cloud environment
* Experience with Azure and Entra
* Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS)
* Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST)
* Background in system administration or DevOps
Physical Requirements/Work Environment * Normal office environment.

Salary at Castalia Systems is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, position knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $187,000.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Castalia Systems’ total compensation package for employees.
