Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Reports To:
Senior Accountant
This position will be support for all aspects of our office. The Accounting Specialist will perform routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in supporting all departments including answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, reconciling and record keeping.
Accounts payable duties as assigned focusing on company purchases and expenses which will include compiling, coding, posting, check writing and reconciling all records in an efficient manner
Assisting Accounts Receivable department with customer payments and various tasks
Assisting Energy department with contract entry and various tasks
Assisting Agronomy department with contract entry and various tasks
Providing customer service by answering the phone and meeting the customers needs
Helping with company mailings including monthly statements
Operating Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook for reports and correspondence
Adhering to cooperative credit policy
Reconciling company accounts
Daily housekeeping of work area and office
Securing facilities and equipment when closing
Adherence to safety policies
Promptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as needed

This position requires a high school diploma. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must possess computer technology and 10-key calculator operation skills. LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations.
Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate personal protective equipment as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.
