Job Description
Razor is looking for an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the Defense Client Data Center (DMDC) Cyber PRIMES program by ensuring the security, compliance, and continuous monitoring of Department of Defense information systems. The role focuses on Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, cybersecurity compliance, security documentation, vulnerability management, and collaboration with technical teams to maintain secure and compliant enterprise IT environments. Education & Certification Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Relevant DoD 8140 certifications and industry certifications are preferred and may be required based on program requirements.
Clearance Requirements: Active DoD Secret clearance required. Some positions may require Top Secret/SCI clearance. U.S. Citizenship required.
Location: Seaside, CA or Alexandria, VA (Mark Center). Flexible for occasional telework; candidates must reside locally.
Estimated Salary Range: $ - $ annually, depending on experience, certifications, clearance level, and geographic location.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) supporting Department of Defense information systems and enterprise cybersecurity initiatives
- Support the implementation and execution of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) throughout the system lifecycle
- Maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) documentation and support security authorization activities
- Develop, review, and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), security procedures, contingency plans, and related cybersecurity documentation
- Conduct continuous monitoring activities to ensure compliance with DoD, NIST, and organizational cybersecurity requirements
- Coordinate vulnerability identification, remediation, and risk mitigation activities with system owners and technical teams
- Support security assessments, audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
- Monitor cybersecurity tool outputs and assist in identifying security risks and recommending corrective actions
- Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers, system administrators, developers, and program stakeholders to maintain secure operating environments
- Track Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) and support remediation efforts
- Provide cybersecurity guidance and recommendations to support secure system operations and regulatory compliance
- Prepare reports, security metrics, and documentation for leadership and government stakeholders Qualifications:
- Experience serving as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) or supporting cybersecurity compliance activities
- Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal information systems
- Strong knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD cybersecurity requirements
- Experience supporting Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes and security authorization packages
- Experience maintaining cybersecurity documentation, including SSPs, POA&Ms, and security policies
- Experience supporting vulnerability management, security assessments, and continuous monitoring activities
- Familiarity with eMASS or similar governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) platforms
- Knowledge of information assurance principles, security controls, and enterprise cybersecurity best practices
- Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, mission-focused environment
Desired Skills
- Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Security, CySA, CASP, CISSP, or other DoD 8140-compliant certifications
- Experience supporting large-scale Department of Defense enterprise environments
- Experience with eMASS, ACAS, Microsoft Defender, HBSS, SIEM platforms, or vulnerability management tools
- Experience supporting cybersecurity audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and enterprise cybersecurity modernization efforts
