Job Title: Assistant Civil Designer
Location: Kansas City, Missouri (On-Site)

Job Summary: We are seeking an Assistant Civil Designer to support a wide range of civil engineering efforts across planning, design, and construction documentation. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse projects involving site design, land development, drainage, utilities, grading, and transportation-related layouts within a project team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, analytical designs, report preparation, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Assist with civil design work across site development, roads, storm drainage systems, stormwater management, water and sanitary sewer utilities, sediment and erosion control, traffic control, airports, and facility design.
• Produce and review drawing packages, refine sketches, perform calculations, and help maintain orderly project drawing records and revisions.
• Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and topographical and geologic data; interpret design codes and specifications; and complete volume calculations for excavation, dredging, and site grading.

Required:

• Ability to assist with a full range of drawing production work on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
• Ability to use prescribed methods and standard techniques for drawing sequence, presentation, sizing system components, and refining rough sketches.
• Ability to incorporate schedules, budgets, and project criteria into civil design and layouts.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or MicroStation required.
• Ability to organize and maintain project drawings, plot files, and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
