Our client, one of the largest Energy companies in US providing a wide range of Energy related products and services to its customers, seeks accomplished Data Analyst.

Notes:

  • Work Schedule: Hybrid - anticipated 3 days onsite in office.
  • Interview Process: In-person interview will be required.
  • Target Start Date: End of September.

 

Description:

  • The Digital Products team supports company’s clean energy initiatives through data products and advanced analytics.
  • The team works across customer, GIS, utility, and other large-scale datasets to create insights that support clean energy planning, grid performance, and technology integration.
  • The Data Analyst will primarily work with existing datasets and multiple data repositories, bringing information together through queries and complex joins, validating data, identifying data quality issues and outliers, performing analysis, and developing visualizations/reports that can be used by project teams and stakeholders.
  • The team is fully operational today and is looking to expand its ability to turn existing data into repeatable, actionable insights.
  • By the end of 2026, the team would like to develop approximately 2–5 insight tools/products, including standalone analytical tools and repeatable reports/dashboards in Power BI.
  • Reviewing, validating, and analyzing large and complex datasets.
  • Working across multiple data repositories and source systems.
  • Combining datasets using SQL, including complex joins and data transformations.
  • Identifying data quality issues, anomalies, trends, and outliers.
  • Determining whether data is appropriate and sufficient for a particular analysis.
  • Translating data into meaningful business/operational insights.
  • Building reports, dashboards, visualizations, and/or other analytical products.
  • Developing repeatable reporting and analytical processes.
  • Supporting testing and validation of analytical tools and methodologies.
  • Troubleshooting data issues and performing root-cause analysis.
  • Communicating findings and escalating data issues appropriately.
  • Working collaboratively with engineers, clean energy program managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Helping refine data aggregations, such as rolling customer account-level information into building-level profiles.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • The hiring team specifically wants someone who can understand the context behind the data and make intelligent decisions about what they are seeing.
  • Utility experience is a strong differentiator, but we will consider candidates from other industries if they have demonstrated experience working with complex, large-scale datasets and can demonstrate the analytical judgment described above.
  • 2+ years of professional data analysis experience.
  • Strong SQL experience.
  • Experience analyzing large and/or complex datasets.
  • Experience working with data from multiple source systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processes.
  • Ability to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and data quality issues rather than simply reporting what the data says.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to investigate, track, communicate, and escalate issues with appropriate urgency.
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Databricks.
  • Other querying/data technologies.
  • Database management.

  • Data engineering experience.
  • Experience working with very large datasets and complicated data relationships/joins.
  • Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Bulk data testing and development/execution of testing and verification plans.
