We are seeking a Fuel Systems Design Release Engineer, responsible for the design, development, advance product & quality planning (APQP), and production release of a system/component within Fuels Systems: Fuel/Urea tanks and fuel/urea delivery modules.

ResponsibilitiesFuel Systems Design Release Engineer is responsible for the design, development, advance product & quality planning (APQP), and production release of a system/component within Fuels Systems: Fuel/Urea tanks and fuel/urea delivery modules. Other responsibilities include quality improvements, value optimization, weight reduction, and other efficiency improvement initiatives including communicating technical product status to management.

Fuel Systems Design Release Engineer interacts with suppliers and works closely with internal and external groups such as vehicle program team, testing & prototype labs, CAE engineers, supplier operations, and manufacturing plantsSupport and drive quality improvement initiatives related to fuel system components and assemblies.

Experience Required 2-5 years of relevant engineering experience (preferred range discussed was 2-3+ years)Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent)Design Release Engineer, Product Engineer, or Component Engineer experience (not primarily CAD/design-focused roles)Experience with fuel systems, preferably:Fuel tanksFuel delivery modules (FDMs)/fuel pumpsUrea/DEF tank systemsUnderstanding of APQP processesExperience supporting product validation activities (DVP&R exposure preferred)Strong communication skills and ability to work with suppliers, manufacturing, validation labs, program teams, and quality organizationsValid driver's license and ability to travel as required
Experience PreferredDirect fuel tank design/release experienceFuel delivery module (FDM) experienceInjection molding and/or blow molding experienceDFMEA experienceDesign for Six Sigma certification or trainingGD&T knowledgeNX, Teamcenter, or similar PLM/CAD system experienceVirtual simulation experienceFastener and torque application knowledgeOEM automotive fuel systems experience
