Manager - WAVES, Systems

The Manager - WAVES, Systems is responsible for leading the development, implementation and delivery of effective systems for the hazard of work-related aggression and violence. The incumbent will be responsible for a dynamic, responsive and cross-functional team, who will provide advice, project management and stakeholder engagement to enable the achievement of strategic objectives.

About the Role

Working within the WAVES (Work-related Aggression and Violence Employee Supports) branch, the Manager, WAVES - Systems leads development, implementation and delivery of systems for the hazard of work-related aggression and violence.

Attributes

Leading a small team of senior advisors and working closely with the other WAVES branch functions, the Manager will have the following skills and experience:

• experience in leadership and management including Performance and Development Plans (PDPs), recruitment, work planning
• the ability to lead development and implementation of strategic, legislative, policy and service delivery reform to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of employees
• an understanding and experience in legislative processes, cabinet submissions and other public service workflows
• high level project management skills to plan and deliver projects, identify risks, establish governance, monitor and evaluate performance and ensure continuous improvement
• high level stakeholder management skills including the ability to consult, negotiate and influence key stakeholders and provide advice to school leadership, regional and central teams
• the ability to interpret work-related violence data, provide clear instructions to a data analyst and brief up to executives on options informed by data and evidence.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Experience in designing and/or delivering OHS or similar systems in schools is a prerequisite for this role.
