Job Description

job summary:

Randstad is seeking an experienced Lead SAP ABAP / S/4HANA Solutions Architect to drive complex SAP solutions and enterprise architecture for our client in the Washington, D.C. metro area. In this high-impact position, you will lead full lifecycle SAP Finance implementations, architect advanced ABAP and cloud-based solutions on SAP BTP, and ensure seamless end-to-end functional integration across enterprise systems. Working within client-focused service delivery environments, you will bridge technical design, release management, and team leadership to drive critical business operations and modern SAP landscapes.

responsibilities:

Solution Architecture & Design: Lead end-to-end SAP enterprise architecture, solution design, landscape management, and data lineage across SAP ECC Finance and SAP S/4HANA systems while enforcing internal controls.


Full Lifecycle Implementations: Direct at least 2 full lifecycle SAP Finance implementations from initial requirements gathering through solution design, development, unit testing, cutover, transport management, and post-go-live support.


Advanced Technical Development: Architect and build advanced SAP ABAP solutions on HANA using Object-Oriented ABAP, ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), CDS Views, AMDP/Open SQL optimization, and complete RICEFW developments.


Cross-Module & Systems Integration: Drive functional integration across FM (Funds Management), GM (Grants Management), FI/CO, MM, O2C, PS, HR, Payroll, and REFX, utilizing SAP BTP, PI/PO, Web Services, Web Dynpro, SAP Workflow, and Web UI frameworks.


Agile Team Leadership & Execution: Serve as technical lead within Agile, Scrum, and SAFe environments, reliably estimating development effort, timeline, dependencies, and resources while driving change and release management.


Production Support & Optimization: Oversee high-tier production support, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and critical issue resolution for enterprise SAP landscapes.




qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or a related field.


Core Experience: Minimum of 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in software development, specifically as an SAP Developer or Architect.


SAP Finance & S/4HANA Expertise: 6 years of experience in SAP ECC Finance and SAP S/4HANA architecture, landscape management, internal controls, and data lineage.


ABAP & Technical Depth: 6 years of advanced ABAP development experience, including ABAP on HANA, OO-ABAP, RAP, CDS Views, AMDP, Open SQL, and full RICEFW execution.


Functional Module Integration: 6 years of experience integrating across FM, GM, FI/CO, MM, O2C, PS, HR, Payroll, and REFX.


Integration Architecture: 5 years of experience with SAP HANA and SAP integration architecture, including SAP BTP, PI/PO, Web Services, Web Dynpro, SAP Workflow, and Web UI.


Methodology & Delivery: 5 years of experience executing full SDLC within Agile, Scrum, and SAFe frameworks in client-focused service delivery environments.


Certifications:


Required: SAP Certified Development Specialist - ABAP


Required: Formal SAP technical certification in the supported product line.


Required: Certification in at least one formal development methodology.


Professional Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong capabilities in change and release management and workload estimation.
