Workday Functional Consultant (Core HCM, Payroll & Recruiting)
Location: Columbus, Ohio (Hybrid) (Remote is considered for exceptional Consultnat)
Duration: 6-12 Months
The Workday Functional Consultant is responsible for the configuration, testing, and support of Workday Core HCM, Payroll, and Recruiting. This role partners with HR, Payroll, and business stakeholders to design, configure, test, and deploy scalable Workday solutions that enable efficient business processes and a high-quality associate experience.
Key Responsibilities
Configure and maintain Workday business processes, security, reports, calculated fields, condition rules, validation rules, and tenant setup.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective Workday solutions.
Support enhancements, releases, and production issue resolution across Core HCM, Payroll, and Recruiting.
Develop and execute testing strategies, including SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, and production validation.
Document configurations, testing outcomes, and solution designs.
Partner with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and adoption of Workday capabilities.
Ensure solutions align with governance, security, and data integrity standards.
Qualifications
8+ years of Workday functional consulting, HRIS, or Workday administration experience.
Deep expertise in Workday Core HCM, Payroll, and Recruiting.
Hands-on experience configuring business processes, security, reporting, calculated fields, condition rules, validation rules, and tenant settings.
Strong testing experience, including SIT, UAT, regression testing, and defect management.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Workday certification(s) preferred.
