AWS EKS Engineer

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced AWS EKS Engineer with strong expertise in Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS. The candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting highly available containerized applications running on AWS EKS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, configure, and manage Amazon EKS clusters in AWS environments.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads, deployments, services, ingress, namespaces, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
• Implement and maintain EKS cluster upgrades, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Work with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, ELB/ALB, Route 53, S3, CloudWatch, and Auto Scaling.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or similar tools.
• Configure Kubernetes networking, Ingress, Load Balancers, security groups, and IAM roles for service accounts (IRSA).
• Implement Kubernetes security, RBAC, pod security, secrets management, and AWS IAM policies.
• Monitor EKS clusters and applications using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot issues related to pods, nodes, deployments, networking, storage, and cluster performance.
• Work with Helm charts for Kubernetes application deployment and configuration.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Terraform, Bash, or Python.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, Development, and SRE teams to improve application reliability and deployment processes.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS EKS.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with Docker/containerization.
• Strong AWS knowledge including EC2, VPC, IAM, ELB/ALB, S3, CloudWatch, and Route 53.
• Experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of Kubernetes networking, RBAC, Ingress, Services, and persistent storage.
• Experience with Helm.
• Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong scripting skills using Bash, Python, or similar.

Preferred Skills:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer / SysOps Administrator.
• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Experience with AWS Fargate and ECR.
• Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio or AWS App Mesh.
• Experience with GitOps and infrastructure automation.
• Experience supporting production-grade, highly available Kubernetes environments.
