We pride ourselves on delivering a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest. We are now looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Night Manager to join our Front of House team and help make every stay special.
The Role – Be the Face of Mercure
First impressions matter, and as our Night Manager, you'll play a key role in creating them. You'll be the friendly face that welcomes our guests, the helpful voice that answers their questions, and the person who helps ensure their visit runs smoothly from arrival to departure.
If you enjoy meeting new people, take pride in delivering excellent customer service and thrive in a busy, people-focused environment, we'd love to hear from you!
Previous customer service experience is essential, but previous hotel experience is not required. We'll provide full training, giving you the knowledge and confidence to succeed in the role.
What You'll Be Doing
In this supervisory role you will be responsible for the overall co-ordination of all night operations within the hotel ensuring that the required standards are achieved at all times.
- Welcoming our guests: Creating a warm, professional and memorable first impression for everyone who walks through our doors.
- Managing arrivals and departures: Checking guests in and out efficiently while ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.
- Handling reservations: Making hotel and restaurant bookings and assisting guests with their enquiries.

- Delivering exceptional service: Responding to guest requests, resolving queries and going the extra mile to exceed expectations.
- Supporting the team: Working closely with colleagues across the hotel to ensure our guests receive the best possible service.
- Health and Safety: Ensuring all health and safety and fire procedures are followed throughout the night.
- Monitoring hotel security: Maintaining the safety and security of guests, employees and hotel premises; conducting regular patrols throughout the building.
- Bar and Room Service: Serving guests in the bar, preparing and delivering light room service meals.
- Meeting and Events Preparation: Preparing meeting rooms for the following day’s events, ensuring furniture is arranged according to requirements and that equipment, refreshments and presentation materials are in place where necessary.
- Night Audit and Reporting: Completing the nightly audit, checking room charges and collecting payments, preparing invoices and end-of-day reports for management.
Successful candidate will have to undergo a basic DBS check (which we will pay for).
What We're Looking For
- A genuine passion for customer service and making people feel welcome.
- A friendly, approachable and professional manner.
- Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organised in a busy environment.
- Confidence when handling payments, guest enquiries and multiple tasks.
- A reliable team player who is happy to support colleagues when needed.
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.
Shift patterns:
Shifts are 5 days from 7 and the hours are 10pm to 6.30am (this includes weekends and bank holidays).
What's In It for You?
We believe in rewarding our team and creating opportunities to enjoy the benefits of working in hospitality.
- Competitive salary: £27,779 per year (£13.36 per hour), based on a 40-hour working week.
- Opportunity to progress within the company.
- Paid overtime
- Tips and service charge: An additional share of tips and service charge.
- Free hotel stays: Up to 4 free nights at Accor hotels across UK for every year of employment.
- Worldwide hotel discounts: Enjoy discounted stays at Accor hotels around the world. Access to discounted rates across Legacy Hotels.
- Restaurant savings: 15% off your final bill at Accor restaurants and bars.
- Marco Pierre White dining: Enjoy 50% off at MPW restaurants.
