Job Description
A growing insurance organization is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join their technology team and lead complex business systems initiatives. This role will work across business and IT teams, partnering with developers, testers, product owners, scrum leads, data teams, and project managers to translate business needs into technical and functional requirements. The position will focus heavily on requirements analysis, Agile delivery, SQL, UAT, process mapping, data analysis, and SDLC practices.
The ideal candidate brings insurance industry experience and enjoys being the person who connects business needs with technology solutions. There is also room to expand your knowledge across underwriting, policy lifecycle, data, and enterprise applications while working in a collaborative environment.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Insurance industry experience
Strong requirements gathering, decomposition, and documentation experience
Experience translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications
Experience with Agile methodologies, backlog management, and prioritization
Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies
Experience supporting UAT and working with QA/testing teams
Experience with SQL queries and data analysis
Strong process mapping, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to independently lead projects and facilitate stakeholder alignment
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with underwriting workflows, risk assessment, and policy lifecycle
Experience with HIPAA, state regulations, and data privacy requirements
Experience with externally facing applications
Knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Suite
Experience with automated testing tools and QA best practices
Experience with wireframing and prototyping
Experience working with data engineers and development teams
Experience coordinating with Legal, Security, and Corporate Communications
Strong ability to mentor and collaborate with technical and non-technical team members
