Job Description

Maxwood Furniture is a growing furniture company behind brands including Max & Lily, Plank + Beam, and Maxtrix. For more than two decades, we've been designing and delivering furniture for homes across the country—and our warehouse and transportation teams play a big part in making that happen.

We're looking for a new member to join our Warehouse Operations team. If you're dependable, ready to work, and looking to be part of a growing team, we'd like to hear from you.

Role Overview

The Senior QC Inspector checks incoming and in-stock furniture for quality issues at our Marion warehouse, making sure everything meets our standards before it ships to a customer. You'll be the go-to quality expert on the floor — guiding newer inspectors and working with Inventory Control, Purchasing, and Customer Care to catch problems early.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming furniture shipments for damage, defects, and packaging issues

  • Check in-stock and pre-shipment inventory against purchase orders and approved samples

  • Document every inspection with photos and clear notes

  • Flag and set aside bad inventory, and help decide next steps (rework, return, discount, scrap)

  • Track defect patterns by vendor or product to help hold vendors accountable

  • Train and support newer QC inspectors

  • Keep inspection checklists and procedures up to date

  • Help Customer Care look into quality complaints from customers

What Success Looks Like

  • You know our checklists and paperwork inside and out within 90 days

  • Warehouse leadership trusts your judgment on quality calls

  • Bad inventory gets caught before it reaches a customer

  • Vendors improve because of the issues you flag

Requirements

  • 3+ years in quality control, inspection, or QA — furniture or other manufactured goods a plus

  • Experience mentoring or leading other inspectors

  • Solid knowledge of furniture materials, construction, and common defects

  • Sharp eye for detail, even at high volume

  • Comfortable learning basic inventory software (we'll train you on ours)

  • Able to write clear, professional inspection notes

  • Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly

  • High school diploma or equivalent; ASQ certification a plus, not required

Core Competencies

  • Detail-oriented and reliable

  • Hands-on and hardworking

  • Clear communicator

  • Works well independently and as part of a team

Benefits

  • 401(k) matching

  • Dental Insurance

  • Employee Discount

  • Flexible Schedule

  • Flexible Spending Account

  • Health Insurance

  • Life Insurance

  • Vision Insurance

  • Paid Time Off
