Our client is a growing private equity firm seeking to add an Associate / Senior Associate to its investment team. The firm invests in established businesses and partners closely with management teams to drive growth through both organic initiatives and strategic acquisitions.

This individual will play an integral role across the full investment lifecycle, including evaluating new opportunities, executing transactions, and supporting portfolio companies. The position offers significant exposure to senior investment professionals, management teams, and business owners, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as the firm continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate new investment opportunities, including reviewing company materials, industry dynamics, competitive positioning, and historical financial performance.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including LBO, operating, returns, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Support all aspects of transaction execution, including financial, commercial, and operational due diligence.
  • Assist in preparing investment committee materials and investment recommendations.
  • Coordinate with third-party advisors, including investment banks, lenders, consultants, accountants, and legal counsel.
  • Conduct industry and market research to identify attractive sectors, companies, and potential acquisition opportunities.
  • Work closely with portfolio company management teams on strategic initiatives, financial performance, add-on acquisitions, and value-creation opportunities.
  • Monitor portfolio company performance and prepare materials for internal portfolio reviews and board meetings.
  • Support sourcing efforts and develop relationships with intermediaries, executives, and other market participants.
  • Senior Associate candidates will have increased responsibility for managing transaction workstreams and mentoring junior investment professionals.

Qualifications
  • 2-5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, or a similarly transaction-focused investing role.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in M&A, leveraged buyouts, financial modeling, and transaction execution.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills with a strong understanding of valuation and accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate businesses from both a financial and strategic perspective.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and professional judgment.
  • Bachelor's degree from a strong academic institution.
