Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced PL/SQL Developer to join our team in a 6-month contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will have strong Oracle database development experience, excellent SQL and PL/SQL skills, and a proven background in database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production support.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting Oracle database solutions throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support database applications.
- Write complex SQL queries and perform SQL performance tuning and query optimization.
- Analyze and troubleshoot database-related issues and implement effective solutions.
- Provide production support and resolve application/database defects.
- Work closely with technical and business teams to understand requirements and deliver database solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for database applications and processes.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards and best practices.
- Work within an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Use tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar database development tools.
- Utilize version control systems such as GitLab, Git, or SVN.
- Track development activities and issues using Jira.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of Oracle PL/SQL development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database and advanced SQL.
- Proven experience developing:
- PL/SQL packages
- Stored procedures
- Functions
- Triggers
- Strong experience with SQL performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar tools.
- Strong database troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- Knowledge of GitLab, Git, SVN, or other version control systems.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with Jira.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
