Staff PCB Designer | Farmingdale, NY, United States | Hybrid | $101,807 - $179,040

The Role

  • Design moderate to complex printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for Digital, Analog, Power, and RF interconnect applications.
  • Conceptualize, design, and implement PCB layouts using industry-standard CAD tools (Siemens Xpedition, PAD's, or Cadence Allegro).
  • Ensure all electrical and physical specifications meet detailed design requirements, adhering to IPC standards.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and process engineers throughout the design lifecycle for prototype and production boards.
  • Provide layout feedback to design engineers to ensure functionality and manufacturability.
  • Create fabrication and assembly drawings, manage component libraries, and generate output files for manufacturing.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience with Siemens PAD's, Siemens Xpedition, and/or Cadence Allegro/OrCAD.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering design practices for PCB layout and fabrication drawing creation.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards, particularly IPC-2221/3, and a standard IPC Class III approach to design and manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience with high-speed PCB design constraints (e.g., Differential Pairs, Controlled Impedance) and RF PCB routing complexities.
  • Knowledge of multi-layer CCA, Flex PCB technologies, and µ-via/HDI layout methodologies.
  • Associate's Degree in Electrical Design/Drafting, BS in Electronic Technology, or equivalent experience and certifications.
