Position Overview

ClarksTech is seeking a highly experienced Senior Program Manager with 12–17+ years of experience managing large, complex programs within Wealth Management, Asset Management, Insurance, Banking, or broader Financial Services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of taking high-risk or "Red" programs and successfully driving them to "Green" through disciplined program governance, executive stakeholder management, risk mitigation, delivery recovery, and strong cross-functional leadership.

This is a senior-level role requiring extensive financial-domain knowledge, executive presence, and the ability to manage complex initiatives involving multiple business and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale, complex programs across Wealth Management, Asset Management, Insurance, and Financial Services.
  • Take ownership of Red/Amber programs and establish clear recovery plans to bring delivery, scope, budget, risk, and stakeholder confidence back to Green.
  • Identify root causes behind troubled programs and drive corrective actions, remediation plans, and measurable recovery milestones.
  • Manage multiple interconnected workstreams, dependencies, milestones, risks, issues, budgets, and resources.
  • Establish strong program governance, executive reporting, RAID management, escalation processes, and delivery controls.
  • Partner closely with senior business executives, technology leaders, product teams, operations, risk, compliance, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide clear executive-level reporting on program health, delivery risks, financials, dependencies, and remediation progress.
  • Drive accountability across business, technology, vendors, and delivery teams.
  • Manage competing priorities and resolve complex cross-functional dependencies and organizational roadblocks.
  • Ensure programs meet committed timelines, budgets, business outcomes, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Lead steering committee meetings and communicate effectively with senior leadership and executive stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of overall professional experience; 12–17+ years strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience as a Program Manager / Senior Program Manager within large financial services organizations.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Wealth Management and/or Asset Management.
  • Deep understanding of the financial services domain, including wealth, investments, financial products, operations, and related technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience recovering troubled programs and moving programs from Red to Green.
  • Proven experience managing large, enterprise-scale transformation or technology programs with multiple workstreams.
  • Strong program governance, risk management, dependency management, financial management, and executive reporting experience.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders across Business and Technology organizations.
  • Ability to identify delivery problems quickly, establish remediation plans, and drive teams toward measurable outcomes.
  • Strong executive communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience working within highly regulated financial-services environments.
  • Must be comfortable working onsite 4 days per week in either NYC or Springfield, MA.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with major wealth management, asset management, insurance, banking, or investment organizations.
  • Experience leading enterprise transformation, platform modernization, regulatory, operational, or technology programs.
  • Familiarity with investment products, portfolio management, advisory platforms, brokerage, retirement, insurance, or related financial-services capabilities.
  • PMP, PgMP, SAFe, Agile, or similar certifications are a plus.

Candidate Profile

We are specifically looking for a seasoned program leader—not simply a project coordinator. The successful candidate should be comfortable entering a complex or distressed program, quickly assessing the situation, establishing governance and accountability, gaining executive confidence, and driving the program from Red/Amber to Green.

W-2 only through ClarksTech. No C2C. Contract engagement.
