Cross-Platform Developer

WWT EMEA has an opportunity for a Cross-Platform Developer to design, evaluate, and implement a modern development environment across Windows and Linux.

The successful candidate will focus on enabling developer productivity while ensuring strong security alignment, supporting large-scale Windows 11 feature adoption, and shaping the long-term strategy for a unified development platform.

This is a contract Role & Inside IR35

Contract Duration: 3 months Contract

Location: Remote, United Kingdom (Occasional travel to London as per business need)

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and implement WSL2 to improve developer workflows.
• Balance security requirements with developer experience, partnering closely with security teams.
• Collaborate with architecture teams to define a cross-platform developer environment strategy.

Must-Have Skills:

• Cross-platform development: Comfortable developing on both Windows and Linux; hands-on WSL experience.
• Strong understanding of Windows 11 developer tooling (Dev Drive, WSL2, Hyper-V, containerization).
• Docker/containerization expertise on Windows, across both WSL2 and Hyper-Vunderstands performance and security trade-offs.
• Solid grasp of SDLC and CI/CD best practices; ability to align tooling with governance and release workflows.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• MacOS development experience.
• Exposure to endpoint security tools (e.g., BeyondTrust, privilege/app control).
• Experience working in regulated financial services.
• Familiarity with Intune and modern device management for developers.
• CI/CD experience (preferably GitHub Actions).
• Windows performance profiling and optimization skills.
