Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a talented Software Developer to join their technology team based in Thornaby.

As a Software Developer, you will play a key role in the development, optimisation and maintenance of server-side applications, helping to ensure performance, scalability and reliability across the company's digital platforms. You'll collaborate with a close-knit technical team, contribute to innovative solutions and help shape the future of the organisation's technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise web applications using C# and ASP.NET Core MVC
• Design and implement robust back-end services and APIs
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Explore and implement new database and application technologies to improve performance and functionality
• Design and maintain efficient database architectures
• Produce clear technical documentation for systems and development projects
• Provide application support, troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Contribute to both customer-facing applications and internal business systems
• Ensure applications remain secure, scalable and high-performing

Essential Skills & Experience

• Commercial experience developing applications using C# and ASP.NET Core MVC
• Experience working with Azure DevOps
• Strong knowledge of Azure SQL
• Experience using Git for version control
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Understanding of scalable application design principles
• Strong debugging and unit testing skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment

Desirable

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
• Experience working within an Agile development environment
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and DevOps practices
• Experience evaluating and implementing new technologies and solutions
