Depending on your experience and expertise, you will gradually take on increasing responsibilities and/or be responsible for leading engineering activities related to the implementation of security systems for large-scale projects serving private, municipal, provincial, and federal clients across Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities
Based on your level of experience and autonomy, you will contribute to the design, implementation, modernization, and technical documentation of integrated electronic security systems.

- Prepare conceptual documentation to support presentations to stakeholders, including security zoning diagrams, functional and block diagrams, equipment location plans, budget estimates, project schedules, and cash flow considerations.
Integrated Electronic Security Systems Design

- Integrate supporting infrastructure requirements, including cabling, technical rooms, power supply, telecommunications, and redundancy strategies.
Standards, Codes, and Compliance
- Apply applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements when preparing engineering concepts and documentation (for example: provincial requirements, electronic security standards, and client-specific project requirements).
- Ensure the technical quality and compliance of all deliverables.
Technical Documentation, Drawings, and Specifications
- Prepare design reports, technical specifications, budget estimates, and other engineering documentation.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers in the development of technical specifications, contract documents, drawings, and tender packages related to integrated security systems.
- For more experienced engineers, lead and coordinate the work of team members involved in the production of plans and specifications, provide technical oversight to designers and drafters, and, where applicable and authorized by the relevant engineering association, sign and seal engineering documents.
