Job description

About the role
Lead developer for an enterprise application development and modernization effort supporting a high-visibility executive-branch client in Washington, DC. You will design, build, containerize and deploy modern web applications end to end, using AI-assisted development to accelerate the full software lifecycle.
What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test and maintain full-stack web applications using .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular and Node.js
  • Build and maintain PostgreSQL data models, queries and migrations
  • Package applications as OCI-compliant container images and deploy to Kubernetes running on on-premises virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
  • Automate build, test and release steps in CI/CD pipelines using Python, Bash and PowerShell
  • Deploy and troubleshoot applications in Linux and Windows environments, including networking issues (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing)
  • Use approved AI coding assistants across the SDLC (design, code generation, test creation, documentation) with appropriate review and security controls
  • Provide technical leadership, code reviews and mentoring; influence architecture and engineering practices
  • Work in an Agile/DevOps team and communicate status and risks to Government stakeholders
Required qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience across the full lifecycle (requirements, design, build, test, deploy, support)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • In-depth experience with modern languages and frameworks: .NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, Node.js; package development and deployment
  • In-depth understanding of containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, OCI standards, and PostgreSQL databases
  • Experience deploying systems in Linux and/or Windows environments
  • Knowledge of on-premises virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and/or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing)
  • Scripting in Python, Bash and/or PowerShell, including automating CI/CD pipelines
  • Significant hands-on experience using AI coding models/assistants in the software development lifecycle
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in Agile/DevOps environments
  • Active AWS DevOps and/or CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Experience in classified or air-gapped development environments
