Department:
Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company specialise in multiple divisions.
United Utilities operates across a number of contracts across our business, predominantly wastewater network services as part of the AMP 7 period plan.
The Team support reactive and planned maintenance across the CCTV & Jetting and Civils teams, further supported by our in house Traffic Management Division and Capital Projects covering the entire UU network.
- Salary: £34,814-£35,620 per annum (depending on experience)
- Hours: 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday, days. 06:30 - 16:30)
- Weekly pay
- Van: will be provided for the team to use which can be taken home (for work use only)
Purpose of the role:
We are seeking several operatives to join us due to a large long term contract that Sapphire Utility Solutions have won. You will be doing pre-survey's, CCTV and jetting of the drainage network. Training will be provided and a Van will be given to go to work from home. Ideally you will have drainage experience however training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be working closely with another Drainage Engineer to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities
- Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales
- Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow
- Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
- Assist with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
- Competent in using an electronic device - tablet for data entry purposes
- Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
Key Requirements
Skills & Experience:
- A manual UK Drivers licence is mandatory with no more than 6 penalty points
- Experience is essential.
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Competent in IT, accurate data entry
- Team player
- Positive, can-do attitude
