Overview
Strata Solicitors is looking for an experienced Defence Claims Handler to join our growing team in Blisworth. This role will suit someone with insurance claims handling experience who enjoys managing their own caseload, negotiating settlements and delivering positive outcomes for clients.
How you'll make an impact
- Manage your own caseload of third party motor and property damage claims from inception through to settlement.
- Review claims, assess liability and make decisions in line with company procedures.
- Negotiate with third parties, insurers and legal representatives to progress claims and reach settlements.
- Accurately set up new claims and maintain detailed records throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Proactively manage claims to ensure they are progressed efficiently and resolved within service level agreements.
- Handle credit hire claims and capture relevant hire and repair information.
- Maintain accurate reserves and claim data.
- Provide regular updates to clients and deliver a high standard of customer service.
- Work closely with colleagues and management to support team objectives and service delivery.
About You
- Previous experience in claims, insurance, financial services, legal services, customer service or a similar office based role.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
- Customer focused with a proactive and professional approach.
- Comfortable working independently whilst contributing to a team environment.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths.
- An interest in developing a long term career within claims, insurance or legal services.
