Technical Product Engineer

We are a dynamic and fast-moving company selling worldwide, high-quality accessories for the Automotive, Leisure and Motorcycle industry from our office based in Milton Keynes.

We are looking for a practical, technically minded and innovative Junior Technical Product Engineer to join our team in Milton Keynes.

This is a varied, hands-on role that goes beyond traditional product design. We are looking for someone who enjoys communicating with people and solving technical problems, investigating product issues, developing practical solutions and improving existing products.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical and mechanical understanding, be confident using SolidWorks CAD, and be able to approach problems logically and independently.

You will work across customer technical support, new product development, existing product improvement, technical support and compliance, making this an ideal position for someone who enjoys variety.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and aid develop of new products and improvements to existing products.
• Use SolidWorks to create 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Take ideas from initial concept through prototyping, testing, refinement and production.
• Provide technical support to our customers and members of the public.
• Assist with product compliance, including researching applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and maintain technical files, test records, specifications, declarations and other compliance documentation.
• Keep up to date with relevant product standards, legislation and regulatory changes.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Competent in SolidWorks CAD and able to produce detailed engineering drawings.
• Confident communicator who is comfortable discussing technical matters with customers.
• Ability to investigate technical problems methodically and develop practical solutions.
• Creative and innovative approach to product development and problem solving.
• Ability to understand technical information, specifications and standards.
• Able to manage tasks independently, take ownership of problems and follow them through to resolution.
• Full UK driving licence.
